Kids can wear their neighbourhood pride
A new line of graphic T-shirts lets kids celebrate their neighbourhood and support Breakfast for Learning charity.
Toronto is among the first cities to be included in the line of quality and ethically made children’s clothing produced by the family-owned Canadian company, Neighbourhood Kids. The owners have committed to donate 10 per cent of net profits to the national charity that supports school-based nutrition programs (www.breakfastforlearning.ca).
Each design includes a cute animal mascot emblem on the front and a kid-friendly positive message on the back. Vancouver and Montreal are the other featured cities and more will be added including cities nominated through the website www.neighbourhoodkids.com.
“We want a way to celebrate and showcase that fun feeling of community pride that exists at the heart of every great neighbourhood,” said Gary Sappleton, president, Neighbourhood Kids. “Each of our neighbourhoods was chosen because it’s an amazing place for families to enjoy and the mascots for each area reflect that vibrant personality.”
