A new season of fun at Harbourfront Centre
The wait for free festivals on the waterfront is over. Harbourfront Centre’s season gets started this May 21–23 when the site transforms into a fun-filled celebration of circus arts for HarbourKIDS: Circus. Shake off the cobwebs as the waterfront comes alive May 27–29 with a performance by the queen of soca, Alison Hinds, as well as more music, tasty cuisine and children’s activities – all part of Barbados on the Water.
The Power Plant welcomes all aspiring young artists. Don’t miss these upcoming Power Kids activities inspired by Harbourfront’s acclaimed exhibitions: City After Dark on Sunday, May 8, an exploration of how cities are transformed at night, and Flutter of Colour on Sunday, May 15, which combines the arts of origami and wax resist. And, on Monday, May 9, catch the inaugural Power Youth Spring Exhibition, featuring work created by participants of the Power Youth program.
Bookworms and young readers will love Canada’s largest literary event for children this May 17–19. Join more than 10,000 attending International Festival of Authors (IFOA): Festival of Trees – a three-day festival featuring the written word through live entertainment, workshops and more.
