Jump into family fitness fest
Kids’ CBC’s fitness adventure series Jiggijump will be bringing the free, family-friendly interactive concert series “Jiggijump Sport and Fitness Fest”, to cities across Ontario. Families are invited to join Juno award-winning duo and series hosts Judy and David for the kick-off at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Torontoon Friday, Jan. 10 at 11:15 a.m. as they inspire children to get moving through a musical adventure. Following its Toronto launch, the high-energy performance hits the road, travelling to shopping centres across Ontario.
“We wanted to make this easy and accessible,” says series co-star and co-creator, David Gershon. “That’s why we’re taking live JiggiJump shows out of the theatre for two months and bringing them right to the doorstep of Ontario families.” With the support of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, 12,000 families will also take home free JiggiJump CDs, resource information, and a JiggiJump Adventure Card. “The card is great,” says Judy Adelman Gershon. “Parents can let their kids try a whole range of activities at no cost before deciding if there’s a fit.” Over 65 Ontario businesses are already signed up to offer free activities to JiggiJump Adventure Card holders.
Many non-profit organizations are also participating with information tables and giveaways at the events.
The free JiggiJump Sport and Fitness Fest launches on the heels of the program’s Kids’ CBC debut, airing Tuesdays andThursdays at 10:11 a.m. Each episode takes children on a musical fantasy adventure where they run, jump, stretch and actively participate along with Judy, David and their sidekick kangaroo, JJ.
In addition to the launch at CBC Atrium, the tour comes to Toronto on Friday, Jan. 24, noon and 2 p.m. at Lawrence Square and on Saturday, Jan. 25 1 and 3 p.m. at Woodbine Shopping Centre. Other stops include St. Catharines at The Pen Centre on Saturday, Feb. 8 1 & 3 p.m.
