Kingsway College School

Where inspiration fuels learning

At Kingsway College School, we believe the future belongs to students who can think critically, create boldly, and navigate complexity with confidence and joy. KCS is a JK–12, co-ed, CAIS- accredited independent school offering a contemporary liberal arts continuum. Built on a strong academic foundation and designed to develop the habits of mind that matter most: curiosity, analysis, creativity, and purpose, our students stand out because they stand ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.

What sets KCS apart is the way we extend that foundation through experiential, place-based learning, leveraging the extraordinary spaces and opportunities of Toronto. Students don’t just learn about the world, they learn in it, gaining real context for the ideas they encounter in classrooms. At our Senior School (Grades 9–12), we bring that mission to life through a “City as Classroom” approach. Academics remain at the core of what we do and we set high expectations for scholarship and character.

KCS brings 37 years of educational excellence as a highly regarded Junior School into a full JK–12 journey that is coherent and intentional. Students grow through a program that balances challenge with care, where wellbeing is the foundation that allows learning to flourish. As a CAIS-accredited school, KCS is held to and has received commendation on, nationally recognized standards for program quality, student development, governance, and continuous improvement. This accreditation is more than a credential – it is a commitment to excellence, accountability, and the long- term value of a KCS education.

A defining feature of the KCS Senior School experience is PATH – a mentored, multi-year pathway that empowers students to pursue questions that matter to them. PATH is not an add-on; it’s a signature element of our program architecture. Students explore passions, build portfolios, develop agency, and learn how to advocate for themselves – skills that are essential for life beyond school. With coaching from dedicated faculty and access to professional mentors, students learn to turn interest into inquiry, and inquiry into meaningful work that can be shared, presented, and celebrated. We also believe that deep learning is strengthened by proximity to expertise. Through our Learning Partners, professionals ranging from scientists and entrepreneurs to artists and makers, students gain insight into what real work looks like in real environments. When students see learning connected to the world around them, motivation rises and relevance becomes unmistakable. It’s how we answer that timeless student question: “Why do we need to learn this?” At KCS, students discover that learning is not preparation for life, it is life, practiced with guidance and purpose.

The outcomes are compelling. At the time of printing, our 27 graduating students have received 150 post-secondary offers across Canada and have earned more than $245,000 in scholarships, a reflection of their diverse talents, hard work, and aspirations.

Our graduates pursue programs they choose – because their learning has helped them discover who they are, what they care about, and what they are capable of. During our recent accreditation cycle, KCS was celebrated for the strength of our student challenge and support – an external validation of what families experience every day: high expectations and expert educators that help students thrive.

At KCS Senior School, we don’t just teach subjects; we develop learners. Through rigorous academics, mentored pathways, and a city-wide learning environment, students build the confidence and competence to create positive change. If you think all schools are the same, we invite you to experience KCS, and be pleasantly surprised.
