Bannockburn’s three-year learning environments in Primary (ages 3-6), Lower Elementary (ages 6-8), and Upper Elementary (ages 9-12), promote leadership and role-modelling skills in the older students, and provide inspiration and goal-setting for the younger ones. Beginning in Toddler, our classrooms are well-organized, thoughtful, and intentional spaces designed to create the roots of lifelong learning. In the Toddler program, the classrooms mirror a home environment with separate areas for preparing and eating food, changing clothes, enjoying books, and having a quiet moment. Toddlers are centered in the classroom experience with furniture and materials sized and accessible just for them. Our Toddler playground is a space designed for imaginative play and exploring.

In Primary, Bannockburn’s Primary classrooms are close and caring communities. A three-year classroom gives the younger students inspiration from their peers to try new learning challenges, and offers the older students daily opportunities for positive leadership and reinforcement.

The curiosity nurtured in Toddler and Primary blossoms into something quite extraordinary in our Elementary Program. Topics are introduced and then connected to the larger curriculum as a whole in an integrated approach. Our qualified teachers encourage the pursuit of knowledge with guided support. Our spacious and intellectually rigorous classrooms create environments in which inquiry-based learning and dynamic social experiences are celebrated. The students learn a rich Montessori curriculum with studies in language, mathematics, geometry, geography, history, botany, and zoology.
