A moment to pause, reflect, and begin again
September has always held a quiet kind of magic.
It carries the energy of a fresh start – sharpened pencils, cooler mornings, packed lunches, and new beginnings. Whether your child is stepping into their very first classroom or simply returning to a familiar school rhythm, there’s something about this time of year that invites us to pause and reset.
But before we rush into new schedules, new goals, and new routines, this season also offers a gentle opportunity to reflect – to take a moment to look back at the joy and growth of summer, and to carry its memory forward.
That’s why we created this special Time Capsule Activity for Kids, centred around two simple but meaningful themes:
The Summer I’ll Never Forget and My September Reset
These worksheets were designed as a way for children to reflect on what they’ve experienced, learned, and loved this summer, and to think about the kind of energy they want to bring into the new season ahead.
The prompts are intentionally open-ended – inviting children to share memories, set personal intentions, and capture the essence of who they are right now. It’s not about making resolutions or striving for perfection. It’s about presence. Awareness. And creating a little space to notice and name their own growth.
You can print and fill these out together as a family, in the classroom, or even one-on-one with your child as a quiet weekend activity. Encourage them to add drawings, photos, or a small keepsake, then tuck it into a box or envelope and seal it with a simple label: “Do not open until next September.”
A year from now, they’ll open it with fresh eyes – and likely a bigger heart – and see how much they’ve changed.
That’s the beauty of a time capsule. It reminds us that while time flies, the moments we choose to mark become timeless.
We hope this becomes a sweet tradition in your home or classroom – a way to connect, reflect, and celebrate the journey.
