Charitable teachers’ gifts

With the growing trend towards giving charitable gifts in lieu of material things, this year, consider giving your child’s teacher a donation in his or her name to First Book Canada.

One in four Canadian households don’t have a single book and First Book Canada wants to change that. The charity has, since 2009, distributed more than seven million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families in Canada.

First Book Canada gives its member network of more than 9,500 educators serving kids in need access to brand new books and educational resources – everything from winter coats to backpacks and more.
