Enviro Baby

New parents today often do not even consider cloth diapers as an option when caring for their child. Often when cloth diapers are suggested the response is something like “Yuk, that’s disgusting” or “My mom did that, you’ve got to be kidding!”

The reality however is that cloth diapering is nothing like most people imagine.  It is a great alternative to disposable diapers and something that every new parent should consider.

Major Advantages of Cloth Diapering:

  1. Environmental – Disposable diapers take about 500 years to decompose and represent 8-10% of what goes into our landfills.
  2. Financial – Cloth diapers cost about 30-35% of disposable diapers.  That translates into a savings of $1,500-$2,000! Just imagine, if you invested that savings into a RESP it would grow to almost $10,000 by their 18th birthday!
  3. Health – Cloth is breathable and more comfortable to wear.  Babies in cloth diapers experience approx 10% of the diaper rash of babies in disposables!

Bottom Line: Cloth diapers are better for the environment, better for your baby & better for your pocket book!
