Harbourfront Centre festival welcomes spring

Harbourfront Centre’s Spring Fling celebrates the vernal equinox, and its reawakening at the heart of Toronto’s waterfront. Spring Fling offers a wide range of free family programs (Easter weekend, April 18 to 20) including music, dance and hands-on activities.

Harbourfront Centre’s inaugural Spring Fling festival presents eight new interactive programs and is a chance for the whole family to grow their knowledge of the waterfront like never before.

It is time to put the skates away and pull out the gardening gloves because in the Discovery Garden, you will learn how the food you eat gets from the field to your table. Grab your binoculars and join the waterfront tour where you will explore the signs of spring across the scenic 10-acre site lead by lively and informative guides. For the music lovers, prepare to rock out with the Monkey Bunch, a high-energy educational rock band known to get everyone singing along.

Afrofusion, Mexican folklore and tribal vision dance workshops at the Lakeside Terrace offer a unique way to learn about diverse cultures. Taught by professional dancers, you can impress your friends with these fresh steps.

Spring Fling hosts crafts, workshops, exhibits, dance performances and theatre, all of which encompass themes of nature, growth, love and family. Each activity creates a connectedness to all aspects of spring while celebrating the awakening and growth of the world.

Mark your calendars for this brand new family event on Toronto’s waterfront. To learn more about Harbourfront Centre’s Spring Fling programming, please visit www.harbourfrontcentre.com or call with general inquiries at 416-973-4000.
