Getting crafty with homemade Valentine’s

By Ashley Petrie

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romantic dinners, expensive chocolates and flowers.  It’s about telling the people in your life how much you love and appreciate them.  What better way to show someone you care than with a homemade Valentine’s Day card?

  1.  Heart Stamped Valentine’s Cards

Grab an old toilet paper roll, some tape, red paint and white Valentine’s Day cards (or white card stock that is folded in half) and you are all set!

First, flatten out the toilet paper roll so it has two creases.  Next fold one crease inside to make a heart shape and wrap the tape around the outside to secure the shape.

Dip the end into some red paint and let your little one have some fun creating his/her

masterpiece!

  1.  LOVE Card

Show someone you care by really spelling it out for them!  All you need is white cards or card stock, painters tape and some red paint.

Using painters tape, tape the letters L O V E onto your piece of white paper.  Let your little one’s artistic side out by painting all over the card and tape.

Once dry, very slowly peel the tape off of the card to reveal the word LOVE in white with your son/daughter’s artwork surrounding it!

 Footprints Card

While this card may be a little trickier to create, even babies can help with this one!  For this card you will need: white construction paper or cards, red paint, and lots of baby wipes!

Paint the bottom of your little one’s left foot with red paint.  Stamp it onto the page at an angle.  Have the baby wipes at the ready and clean your little one’s foot.  Paint your little one’s right foot and stamp it at a different angle creating a heart.  Add any other decorations you would like to use.  (image 5)

Don’t forget to write to write your little one’s name and age onto the cards.

These unique Valentine’s Day cards are simple, fun and each one is unique! A perfect way to show the special people in your life how much you and your family loves them while creating memories with your little one at the same time!
