Rough and tumble kids’ reality show

In the Real World (YTV) — We’ve already had a reality TV show a la American Idol on Canadian TV (The Next Star), and now Apartment 11 Productions has put together a show in the style of The Amazing Race, with kids as contestants. Here, 18 kids from ages 12 to 14 get dirty, scared and exhausted with a series of adventures. Episode one has them zipping around the track at a NASCAR speedway, and the second sees them wrestling alligators. There are eliminations for some challenges, and the final winner gets $15,000 to put away for their education, plus a choice of one all-expenses-paid vacation for them and their family. Perky comedian Sabrina Jalees hosts this rough-and-tumble series. Runs Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. on YTV starting February 4.
