RoboScience Expo, an annual outreach initiative hosted by first Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1360, Orbit Robotics. With this exposition format, members of the community can come by anytime join in on the fun! This event welcomes youth from age 7 - 17 and their families to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), through active participation in activities put on by many first teams of all ages from the area. VEX robotics teams of all ages will also be engaging with the community. These teams will showcase the robots that they have designed, built, and programmed to meet this year’s challenge, and help students discover the opportunities that are out there for them to participate in FIRST and VEX programs. Both first and VEX aim to impact youth and inspire STEM in our next generation of young minds. Also joining are some local enterprises and organizations, such as McMaster EcoCar3 and Sheridan College Skilled Training Center, who will be showcasing real-world applications of STEM. This event is a great opportunity to explore STEM and to learn about joining a robotics team near you. Admission is free; however, members of the community are encouraged to bring donations of nonperishable goods for our local Kerr Street Mission. No need to sign up for the event, drop-in anytime!
